Dr Katherine Beck

Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist and Clinical Governance Lead

I am the Clinical Governance Lead at Bloomfield Health and a Consultant Psychiatrist with a background in neuroscience and medical education. I studied medical sciences (neuroscience) and clinical medicine at the University of Oxford and hold a PhD in Neuroscience, where I explored the neurobiology of psychosis using neuroimaging. My academic achievements have been recognized with awards from the Rosetrees Trust, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and other prestigious organizations. I am also a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a National Institute for Health Research Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London, where I teach and conduct research.

In my clinical practice, I support adults with a broad range of mental health difficulties, including common conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and ADHD, as well as more complex presentations including psychosis, severe mental illness, and neuropsychiatric conditions. I have a particular interest in mood disorders, women’s mental health, and perinatal psychiatry, and I am passionate about working with families to support holistic care.

I completed my specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital, where I developed a specialist outpatient service for treatment-resistant schizophrenia. My clinical interests include psychosis, severe mental illness, mood disorders, neuropsychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, women’s mental health, and ADHD.

At Bloomfield Health, I lead clinical governance to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in patient care. I am committed to advancing evidence-based practices and fostering collaboration, helping patients achieve meaningful recovery and improved well-being.
