I am a Specialist Occupational Therapist with wide-ranging experience across the NHS, private sector, and community settings, specialising in neurology. I trained in London at Brunel University and have worked as a Clinical Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist within Stroke and Neurosciences in a busy teaching hospital, delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy across the care pathway—from the acute phase following brain injury through to specialist neurorehabilitation and community enablement settings.
I have extensive experience in vocational rehabilitation, having worked as an Occupational Health Consultant for a large London-based insurance broker. In this role, I supported individuals returning to work following complex injury or illness, working collaboratively with Human Resources teams, line managers, and insurers. My work included comprehensive vocational and ergonomic workplace assessments, graduated return-to-work programmes, and advice on transitions into original or alternative employment roles within highly demanding corporate environments.
I currently work with adults presenting with complex neurological impairments, including cognitive, behavioural, physical, and psychological difficulties following stroke, traumatic brain injury, long-term neurological conditions, and polytrauma, often alongside co-existing psychiatric conditions. My practice is holistic and client-centred, supporting individuals to engage in meaningful, bespoke occupations that reflect their values, priorities, and sense of identity, and to rebuild their lives following trauma or significant changes in daily function.
I have specialist expertise in the assessment and treatment of conditions affecting all aspects of daily functioning, including cognition, mood, behaviour, sleep, fatigue, apraxia, and visual and perceptual difficulties. I am Movement Science trained and experienced in splinting, tone management, and disorders of movement. My approach integrates ADL retraining, cognitive rehabilitation, fatigue and sleep management, and practical solutions for home adaptation and equipment provision, supporting individuals across the continuum from acute hospital care to community life.
I also have substantial mental health experience, recognising that neurological conditions frequently coexist with psychological distress. I am experienced in supporting individuals with stress, anxiety, neurodiversity, dual diagnosis (including substance misuse), capacity issues, and complex mental health presentations alongside neurological impairment.
