Senior Clinical Psychologist or Senior Psychological Therapist (Band 8A Equivalent)
Location: Hybrid (2–3 days per week) including 1 day p/w being physically based in Central London.
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience) + benefits package.
Bloomfield Health Limited (BHL) are a leading provider of psychological and psychiatric care for working age adults and couples experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or in their relationships. We are based in the heart of Central London with clinic rooms on Harley Street. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Clinical Psychologist or Senior Psychological Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team. About the Role
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist or Senior Psychological Therapist at BHL, you will:
- Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for adult patients seeking help for common mental health difficulties and more complex mental health needs.
- Provide culturally sensitive psychological interventions for patients and their families.
- Develop risk management plans and contribute to the delivery of multidisciplinary team care and meetings.
- Supervise and guide other staff and support the ongoing development of the service.
- Contribute to service improvements, audits, and quality initiatives.
- Play a key role in maintaining clinical standards and adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines.
- Report to the Director of Psychology.
- Provide psychologically informed case consultation to other clinicians including consultant psychiatrists.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology with substantial (minimum 2 years) post-qualification experience (HCPC-registered or eligible) OR qualified psychological therapist in a specialised area of psychotherapy practice (e.g. CBT, Couple Therapy, IPT, DIT, CfD, EMDR, DBT, MBT, Schema Therapy), at post-graduate diploma level or equivalent with at least two years post-qualification experience.
- Practitioner accreditation status with relevant registration body (e.g. HCPC, BABCP, IPT UK, BACP).
- Considerable experience of working as a qualified practitioner psychologist or psychological therapist using CBT to treat mental health problems in adults.
- Ability to establish good therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Experience of collecting and recording patient reported outcome measures to monitor clinical progress.
- Experience of carrying out psychological assessment, including assessment of risk, and developing comprehensive formulations and treatment plans tailored to the individual or couple.
- Proven experience in delivering high quality evidence-based psychological interventions and working with common and/or complex mental health presentations (e.g., trauma, psychosis, personality disorder).
- Excellent working knowledge of psychometric assessments, relevant legislation, and clinical research.
- Outstanding communication skills to convey sensitive and complex information effectively.
- Enthusiasm for, and ability to work collaboratively in, multidisciplinary teams and manage emotionally challenging situations.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications or accreditation in more than one evidence-based therapy modality (e.g., CBT, EMDR, DBT, DIT, IPT, Couple Therapy, Schema Therapy, MBT).
- Experience working in private healthcare settings.
- Experience working across primary, secondary and tertiary levels of care.
- Experience of working clinically with patients who identify as neurodiverse (e.g., with diagnosis of or neurodivergence associated with ASD and/or ADHD).
- Ability to offer therapy in a language other than English.
- Experience in supervising other clinicians.
- Extensive experience in liaising with a range of other services and agencies.
